Reinventing the nation's high street
Westminster City Council announced ambitious new plans to revive Oxford Street and the wider District with long-term benefits woven into the post-pandemic recovery framework. We worked with Westminster City Council and Publica to communicate the new vision through a short animated vision film. The film helps to communicate the core components of the plan, which aims to create a greener, smarter, future, together for the Oxford Street District, in a simple and engaging way.
The short film starts with a brief, visual history of the area, from the Victorian Bazaars to the present day, noting the areas adaptability and importance to both Londoners and visitors. It goes on to explore the new framework, highlighting the core themes; Greener, Smarter, Future and Together, that underpin the plan’s ambitions.
We worked closely with Westminster Council and Publica to communicate the framework's aim to revive the Oxford Street Distrcit as a globally competitive centre for innovative retail, commercial activities, culture and living. The sustainability initiatives were also interwoven into the film to illustrate the world class sustainability initiatives from Westminster City Council. The iniative aims to create cleaner air and tackle climate change, with a huge greening programme, a pedestrian first approach and zero emission transport network.
