The Brief
‘Create a short film to foster public excitement and support for new plans to revive Oxford Street and the wider District. Weave the long-term benefits into the post-pandemic recovery framework.’
Our Response
The film starts with a visual history of the area, from the Victorian Bazaars to the present day, noting the areas adaptability and importance to both Londoners and visitors. It goes on to explore the new framework, highlighting the core themes that underpin the plan’s ambitions.
The sustainability initiatives of the framework were also interwoven into the film. We wanted to illustrate the world-class initiatives from Westminster City Council and the aims to create cleaner air and tackle climate change in central London. We illustrate the planned greening programme, a pedestrian first approach and a zero-emission transport network.
