Helping developers and the public make better and more informed decisions about the future of London.
By 2050 the population of London is predicted to rise from 8 million to 11 million. As a result numerous complex and diverse infrastructure projects will be required to support London and help keep it moving.
Squint/Opera created an infrastructure mapping tool which brings together, for the first time, data collected by the Greater London Authority (GLA) to provide an easy way for stakeholders to understand the future implications of infrastructure projects. MA LDN was a complex project built over 3 months using Agile methodology ensuring that the everything was delivered on time to be presented and launched by the Mayor of London.
At the heart of the design was the tool's interactive usability. Users are able to filter infrastructure layers, produce reports and charts and compare data and potential models through a highly visual interface, all on a web application. We are pleased to hear that the tool is being used daily, helping planners, developers and the public make better and more informed decisions about the future of London.
