REAL TIME TECHNICAL ARTIST

 

Being the link between artists and developers, with a background in both disciplines, the Technical Artist ensures integration between the artistic vision of a project and the technical development making it a reality

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working closely with CG Supervisor and Digital Supervisor to successfully integrate design and programming aspects of projects in real time environments
  • Advising on the possibilities and setting up systems and processes for creating and developing interactive real time environments

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

PRODUCER

Summary

This role will involve project managing a broad range of projects from content to interactive software. You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with our clients including major international developers, architects, cultural institutions, visitor attractions and brands. The producer will be responsible for delivering large and small scale projects according to brief, timelines and budget managing both creative and technical teams in house and externally. It is essential that you have generalist animation experience and end to end producing experience. Due to the nature of our projects in the pipeline it is likely that you will have a background producing immersive or experiential content managing both creative and digital teams.

This role will involve project managing a broad range of projects including films (live action and motion graphics), interactive and installations. You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with our clients including major international developers, architects, cultural institutions, visitor attractions and brands. As a senior producer you will be responsible for delivering large and small scale projects according to brief, timelines and budget managing both creative and technical teams in house and externally. You will take responsibility to manage and report on the project performance and take control to overcome issues during the project. You will also oversee projects run by more junior producers and play a part in their development. It is essential that you have generalist animation experience and end to end producing experience.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities

We are seeking a full-time Unreal Developer to join our digital team and primarily collaborate on new software projects for high profile projects for UK and international clients, as well as development, support and maintenance services on existing projects 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and ongoing maintenance for interactive museum projects.
  • Duties may include troubleshooting, client communication, liaison with AV integrators
  • Software support services such as testing and writing manuals
  • Collaboration and communication with our UK technical director and UK development teams
  • Development of interactive software for a range of new interactive exhibits, ranging from VR, AR to touchscreens

We would look for them to grow with us in our young creative business, both through developing their professional skills and further study of the human resources field.  Recruitment coordination, office/admin experience from a creative / media / digital industry is essential and a must. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Head of People & Culture with recruitment, liaising with recruiters, adding vacancies to applicable job boards, arranging all interviews and first point of contact behind the people@squintopera.com email account. 
  • Research options for finding talent and keeping a talent database up to date for permanent/fixed term and freelance
  • Starter & Leaver Administration
  • Facilitate creation of offers letters of employment and contract paperwork for Head of People & Culture
  • Ensure employees’ right to work is checked on their first day and copies of the relevant documentation is kept in their HR record

Summary

 

The Senior CG Artist is responsible for producing high quality CG shots and stills collaborating closely with the Creative Director, Producer and CG Teams. You will lead projects and mentor less experienced artists. Please note: 3DS Max knowledge a must.

 

Main Responsibilities 

 

  • Working up shots and/ or stills on projects to achieve the high quality results that are true to the creative vision.
  • Working closely with producers to help estimate time for tasks and changes from clients
  • Owning your tasks within production from inception to delivery, responsible for the rendering of your output within expected render times
  • Complete understanding of the project from the design aspect as well as creative vision.

CG SUPERVISOR

Summary

 

Oversee all CG processes across the company. Collaborate with the creative and technical teams to develop and maintain a clear and overarching approach to CG across all group divisions including 3D, 2D, Animation, Post-Production and digital. 

 

Main responsibilities

  • Take ownership of CG Processes across all production services 
  • Develop technical and creative workflows for each distinct service adhering to consistent standards and ensuring these are adhered to

LEAD COMP ARTIST

Responsibilities:

  Leading Project teams in post production comprised of freelance or contract staff

  • Developing in-house process and workflow for the post-production team in conjunction with the CG Supervisor, Pipeline artists and Head of 3D
  • Collaborate with the CG Supervisor and senior artists to devise ways to improve quality of production output

Experience:

  • Significant experience in a VFX or high quality arch vis studio

Reporting to the Head of Production

Your role will involve scoping, detailing and contracting qualified sales leads and you will be responsible for converting into confirmed projects with detailed scope and brief for the production team to execute. You will become the escalation point for the client during project production and be responsible for upselling and developing long-term relationships with our existing clients in order to grow revenue. You will also oversee and support the producer on the project and check in at key milestones. You are likely to have a production background and a thorough understanding of production process in a digitally driven creative business. To be successful, the right person needs to be driven, great with people, a competent writer, comfortable defining a strategic approach and developing winning proposals, a pro at coordinating and delivering pitch presentations, along with strong commercial acumen.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities

Sales

  • Assess and further detail qualified leads and briefs from sales development teams
  • Lead client workshops and meetings to define and contract (close) the opportunity resulting in a clearly defined and properly costed brief for the production team to execute
  • Respond to RFP overseeing pitch production and presenting the pitch to clients 
  • Take inbound sales calls and qualify initial leads from existing clients

AV EDITOR

Reporting to the Production Director

 

Summary

Responsible for the editing process on all assigned projects. Working with the production team with direction from project CD to achieve the creative vision of the project. To work with the In-house Editor to follow existing and suggest new standards for the Edit production process.

 

Main responsibilities 

 

  • Working with CD on projects for the Edit to be true to creative vision, understanding and forecasting edit time required.
  • Responsible for the editing process across assigned projects from the beginning and meeting the editing standards. Helping to set up files and ingesting for handing over to the CD, other editors, or continue editing based on availability
  • Conforming the edit for production requirements across different teams
  • Complete ownership of editing on assigned projects.
  • Collaborating closely with other teams for assets that impact the Edit for deliveries.
  • Working closely with producers and production operations to help estimate time for tasks, changes from clients and preparing files for grade
  • Suggesting any available online plugins and assets that can be added to the library

ART DIRECTOR IN NYC

The NYC team of 10 permanent staff are focused on exhibition media work primarily in the cultural sector and are working on high profile projects which you would be involved with. The team also work closely with our London production team. 

We are seeking an Art Director to join this team, and start immediately. You will report directly to the Creative Director, and be part of a team which includes Creative, Design, Development, and Production.

As Squint/Opera NYC’s Art Director, you play a leading role in defining the visual identity of our creative output both for projects and concept development for pitch and consultancy and will ensure that all material produced meets our high standards in design. You have a keen eye for design across a wide range of media – print, animation, UI, 3D – and are a skilled leader who encourages junior designers to create their best work. You will be able to confidently present concepts and design options to clients and to the Creative Director.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

IT SUPPORT ENGINEER

Like other media companies we have a large IT footprint, lots of different software and tools,  and a large render server farm. The IT team therefore needs to expand to provide support and maintenance as our IT footprint increases.

Summary

We are looking for a 2nd/3rd line Technical Support Engineer to provide pro-active support to our production team working across a broad range of technologies. You will be relied upon to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues including account setup and network configuration. The role involves 1st line support to 3rd line support, must have can do attitude along with good communication and technical skills. In this role you will have a problem-solving attitude along with the ability to give clear technical instructions. Office based full-time role, occasional weekend work will be required and compensated with time off in lieu. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Addressing user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking
  • Build and install PCs, Macs, telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices related to desktop infrastructure
