Project Details
To launch Toyota’s vision for a future city we created a 360 immersive exhibition and animated film which opened at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The film, which played during Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda’s announcement, was part of a carefully choreographed presentation by Founder and Creative Partner of BIG, Bjarke Ingels.

The Brief
‘Immerse audiences in the Woven City vision.’
Our Response
We created a choreographed, dynamic film that explored the unbuilt plans as if they were built. The audience was taken into the new city with Bjarke as a tour guide. As he explains his design philosophy for the Woven City, the plans manifest around him. The film set a new benchmark for architectural communications by blending digital animation with live presentation techniques.
At Toyota’s exhibit booth, was a 360 film to further communicate aspects of the Woven City for CES attendees. The film was played on a large circular screen that surrounded the audience with a digital prototype of the city. At a super-large 9000px wide scale, the film was formatted with surround sound to create a completely immersive experience.
“The Woven City theatre bridges the distance between you and the digital world” – Bjarke Ingels, founder of Bjarke Ingels Group.
The Woven City broke ground in 2021 and is a fully connected ecosystem powered by hydrogen fuel cells to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. This “living laboratory” will include full-time residents and researchers who will test and develop technologies such as autonomy, robotics, personal mobility and smart homes, in a real-world environment.
