Nuke Compositor - mid/junior

Job Description

  • Reporting to the Comp Lead and CG Supervisor, including reporting any technical or potential problems to the Supervisor

  • Create slap comps for preview and final comps for approval as briefed by Series Director/ Art Director

  • Accurately follow all reference material available, including previous episodes, brief and launch notes

  • Prepare shots for review in a timely fashion prior to deadline

  • Incorporate any retakes and creative or logistical feedback as requested

  • Incorporate any QC or technical fixes as requested

  • Create and publish shots which meet the technical specifications of the pipeline, to ensure all materials are ready and efficient as possible to use at all stages of the production pipeline

  • Meet the shot quotas and deadlines given by production


Essential Skills

  • Must have minimum a degree in 3D Computer Graphics / Visual Effects

  • Minimum 1 years’ industry experience (Junior) or 3 years’ experience (Mid), as a Compositing

  • Artist or generalist focussed on Compositing, in a film production environment / animation TV

  • series or visual effects (TV series preferable)

  • Excellent knowledge of Nuke

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills; ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in spoken English

  • Able to interpret and work to a brief; take direction constructively and implement feedback effectively

  • Proficient at integrating separate live-action, CG and 2D elements


Desirable Skills & Attributes:

  • Knowledge of After Effects, Maya and V-Ray would be an advantage      

  • Happy to collaborate with a diverse team of artists and supervisors to produce consistently high quality work

Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: London or Cheltenham

Squint/Opera are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to join our expanding technical teams in either London or Cheltenham. This will involve developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure and continuously improve our software delivery process.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions across many hardware configurations and platforms. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics working with our development team to build a level of automation and monitoring to our testing process.

The QA role plays an important part in our company’s current software development and future product process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before software launches to ensure everything runs smoothly and meets client and user needs, while being cost-effective. Animation/Production Coordinator

Location: London

Doodle Productions is seeking an Animation Coordinator / Production Coordinator to join our production team for Messy Goes to Okido Series 2.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Producers with planning of the production, including day-to-day scheduling of artists and resources

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the departments assigned, monitoring progress of tasks in those departments and flagging potential issues

  • Work closely with Team Leads & Supervisors to ensure clear communication and flow of information across all departments

  • Create and follow departmental schedules and reporting systems, based on the master production schedule and tracking system, ftrack

  • Identify existing or potential problem areas that may affect the production schedule; coordinate with Producers and Department Heads to troubleshoot and find solutions

  • Maintain tracking documents and keep asset database up to date with all necessary information, feeding accurate reports to Producers when necessary

  • Arrange internal reviews for assigned departments

  • Take notes during reviews and meetings and assign / distribute tasks accordingly

 Specific Requirements:

  • 2+ years industry experience on animated productions working as a Production Coordinator or similar role

  • Experience in 3D animation production essential, experience in 2D animation production a distinct advantage

  • A thorough knowledge of animation process and pipelines and good knowledge of the creative side of animation producing

Senior 3D generalist (moving image 3D)

Location: London

We are looking for an enthusiastic 3D generalist to be part of our London team.


Works with the Creative Director, 3d Leads and Producers to make sure project production process is smooth and shots within budget. Manages the technical aspects of projects, will focus on one large or several small projects at one time so must be flexible and able to prioritise. Work with the Pipeline Developer and Head of 3D to implement change to process and workflow where required.

Pipeline Technical Director

Location: London

At Squint Opera the Pipeline TD is responsible for developing and maintaining the production pipeline, liaising between different departments and providing solutions to technical problems.

The right candidate will be able to increase the overall efficiency of the studio, and contribute to improving the quality of work being done.

This role will see you predominantly partner between various divisions inside of the business, including our Architectural Visualisation, VFX, Interactive and TV production pipelines. This is an en exacting opportunity for the right person to work in a progressive and forward thinking team on how to merge pipelines and provide tools to all our team in a seamless fashion. You will be responsible for really driving innovation across our teams and taking ownership on how best to do this.
