Animation Production Assistant

Location: London

Doodle Productions is seeking an Animation Production Assistant to join our production team for Messy Goes to Okido Series 2.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Animation Production Manager / Animation Team to ensure clear communication and efficient flow of information across all departments

  • Support Animation Production Manager with arranging briefs and reviews and ensuring that meeting rooms are set up and ready to begin

  • Take notes during briefs and reviews and update tracking system accordingly

  • Support Animation Production Manager with creation and maintenance of tracking documents; setting up episodic shot list templates for 2D and 3D

  • Breakdown 2D episodic assets and graphic sequences

  • Help organise interviews for recruitment when needed

  • Tracking status of shots from ready to start for animation to ready to start for lighting

  • Check shots are published / pending review on time for Director Reviews

  • Tracking progress of all retakes / approving simple non-creative amends

  • Liaise with Animation Team and IT Dept regarding any minor issues to be addressed

  • Support Animation Team with any general queries

  • Prepare reference packages and information for new crew starters as required

  • Prepare Post Production Scripts for delivery

Specific Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year industry experience on animated productions as runner / intern / production assistant or similar role

  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills

  • Excellent administrative skills and fastidious nature when it comes to checking your own work

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office, googledocs and photoshop

  • Good knowledge of animation process and pipelines

  • Good understanding of schedules and importance of deadlines

  • Strong ability to multitask, work to tight deadlines and stay calm and diplomatic under pressure

  • Knowledge and experience with tracking software a distinct advantage, particularly ftrack

  • TV Series experience a distinct advantage

  • This is a contract position.

  • The role would be in-house in our studio in East London. Candidates must have a valid work permit for the UK / EU and be willing and able to work on-site for the duration of the contract.

Senior 3D generalist (moving image 3D)

Location: London

We are looking for an enthusiastic 3D generalist to be part of our London team.


Works with the Creative Director, 3d Leads and Producers to make sure project production process is smooth and shots within budget. Manages the technical aspects of projects, will focus on one large or several small projects at one time so must be flexible and able to prioritise. Work with the Pipeline Developer and Head of 3D to implement change to process and workflow where required.

  • Acting as the Technical Lead on stills and/or animation projects.
  • Discussing creative direction and being able to estimate the time and resources that will be needed to complete the project as well as coming up with more time efficient solutions to creative problems
  • Ability to identify any issues that might come up, flag at beginning of project and create ways of managing and solving technical issues whilst maintaining quality 
  • Have a good understanding of the workflow and pipeline for stills and film.
  • Manage project deliverables and quality of output.
  • Collaborate with project members and help decide on the need for any new tools that can help with the production.
  • Very interested in all aspects of 3d graphics.

  • Experience 3DS Max, Nuke and VRay essential
  • 3D Animation skills, with an emphasis on moving image
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe creative suite, with an expert hand in Photoshop.
  • Thorough knowledge of modeling/texturing/lighting/rendering of 3d architectural scenes.
  • Understanding of film-making and experience compositing 3D into filmed shots
  • Knowledge of scripting an advantage

Studio Manager


We are looking for a new Studio Manager to join us in this key role in our organisation


  • Security – keys/entry system supervision, sometimes opening/locking up

  • Reception duties in the absence of the Studio Receptionist

  • Co-ordination of the reception service, the cleaning service and work space within the building

  • Responsible for maintaining a comfortable, clean and tidy working environment and making improvements where practical and necessary

  • Responsible for Studio supplies, such as fruit, tea/coffee, kitchen supplies, cleaning products etc.

  • Arranging work/maintenance around the studio

  • Liaising with HR and IT to ensure new starters have desk space, login details and the technical requirements for their role

  • Managing utilities and contracts, putting out to tender at intervals to ensure cost effectiveness


Health & Safety

  • Ensuring the studio is assessed and compliant with current Health & Safety standards.

  • Responsible for fire drills and fire alarm tests, ensuring compliance with fire regulations

  • Ensuring staff undertake an assessment of their workstations to avoid health issues arising and that they have a comfortable space in which to work.

PA duties for CEO:

  • Calendar organisation and arrangement of meetings

  • Getting agreements signed, returned and filed

  • Completing awards/grant submissions/applications for Eye Present

  • Booking tickets or RSVPing to conferences/events

  • Making itineraries and arrangements for all business trips

  • Assisting with putting together presentations or documents when requested

  • Scheduling all Board Meetings (S/O, Doodle P, Doodle Bar, Eye P)

  • Collecting and sending out Board Meeting Papers in advance



  • Managing cleaner – ensuring she has cleaning products, pointing out one off jobs etc

  • Managing Studio Receptionist and Studio Runner – delegating tasks and ensuring their responsibilities are met

  • Working closely with the Head of IT to ensure the smooth running of the studio communications infrastructure

  • Working closely with the Head of Operations to ensure the best facilities service is being delivered
