Just next door to Squint/Opera's studio in Battersea is Edge of Arabia, an independent art gallery founded by a small collective of artists who met in the mountains if Aseer in Saudia Arabia. They began as a border-crossing collaboration, against the backdrop of the last Gulf War and are now an established platform for dialogue and exchange between the Middle East and western world.
The galleries latest exhibition 'Rhizoma (generation in waiting)' is inspired by multidisciplinary arts practices of 26 young artists, collectives and foundations from Saudi Arabia. The exhibition is part of the 55th Venice Biennale and is being curated by London-based art critic and independent curator Sara Raza, a Saudi-based poet.
We have had the pleasure of working with the gallery on this exciting project, producing a graphic identity which will be applied across all media: a catalogue, invitations, introductory wall, labels and more. Visit the website for more info.
